Kolymbithres

The most photographed coastline on the island.

Sculpted granite boulders rise from water so clear it reads turquoise from above. Kolymbithres is the beach that defines Paros — a series of small sheltered coves formed by millennia of wind erosion, each one intimate and calm. The north-facing bay keeps the meltemi at bay, and the shallow gradient makes it ideal for unhurried swimming. Arrive early or late; midday in August belongs to the crowds.

Northeast coast, near Naoussa

Santa Maria

The island's most complete beach experience.

A long arc of fine white sand backed by tamarisk trees, Santa Maria offers something rare on Paros: genuine depth. The beach stretches far enough that you can always find a quiet corner, and the water — shallow for a long way out — is among the warmest on the island. A reliable beach club operates here through the season, and the road access is straightforward. It catches the afternoon light beautifully.

Golden Beach

The kitesurf capital of the Aegean.

Golden Beach faces east into the meltemi, which makes it the premier windsport destination in Greece and one of the best in Europe. The consistent afternoon wind draws serious kitesurfers and windsurfers from across the continent, and the beach has built an entire infrastructure around them — schools, rental centres, and a strip of tavernas that stay lively well into the evening. For those who simply want to watch, it is one of the most energetic spectacles the island offers.

East coast, between Piso Livadi and Dryos

Logaras

The quieter east coast alternative.

Logaras sits in a wide bay on the calmer eastern shore, sheltered enough for comfortable swimming even when the meltemi picks up on the other side of the island. The sand is coarse and golden, the water deep blue, and the small cluster of tavernas behind the beach serves some of the most honest fish on the island. It has none of the infrastructure of the north coast beaches, which is precisely its appeal.

Faragas

The island's best-kept secret.

Tucked into the southern coastline between Alyki and Dryos, Faragas is a small beach that rewards those who seek it out. The water is exceptionally clear — the south coast benefits from less boat traffic — and the surrounding landscape of low scrub and white rock gives it a raw, unspoiled quality. A single beach bar operates here in season, keeping things simple. The drive down is part of the experience.
